Persuasive Writing - using Book Analysis and Internet Research
The following series of lessons are a great follow-up to nonfiction research, letter writing, and reading responses as the "Bunnicula" Lessons tie in the skills from all of these lessons.These lessons require students to collaborate in order to find and validate information, as well as apply and interconnect with the research. Students will evaluate and leverage the information gathered by creating a persuasive argument in the form of a letter.
Analysing A Book with Research #1
This lesson uses the book "Bunnicula" as a great starting point for getting the students to do initial research by finding and validating information on vampires and vampire bats. Students will help to create a R.A.N chart to guide additional research for lesson 2.

Analysing a Book with Research #2
This lesson continues from the first lesson. Now the students will research in pairs to find and validate more information on vampires and vampire bats. The class will share and evaluate the information found. Finally the students will leverage the information in a persuasive letter to the Munroes (the fictional family in the book, "Bunnicula")
